It was the Great Recession of 2008. I was fresh out of college as an economics major, eager to enter the workforce and begin my career. But what I saw devastated me. Homes foreclosed, jobs lost, and families being torn apart—all because the mortgage industry got greedy. Unsustainable loans were given to regular people who didn’t know what they were signing up for, causing a domino effect of foreclosures and bankruptcies.
I came to the conclusion that the root cause of all these problems was the lack of financial literacy. Together with my co-founder Byron, we decided to start Murow Group to bring transparency and clarity into the industry. Our mission was to build long-lasting personal connections with our clients and help them in their financial journey. Our approach of prioritizing customers’ financial health over short-term profits has helped us build a loyal and happy client base that recommends us to everyone they know.
